Starting a web business?

Since I’ve both started and sold a business, I’ve got advice, but you can’t beat Bob Parsons’ words of wisdom (his business sale had more zero’s at the end). Bob is the head honcho at GoDaddy.com.
He’s also a former Marine, like myself.
Here is what Bob has to say (he’s a billionaire, so forget thinking you know it all and look for something you can use):

Once you’ve digested Bob’s video blog, see if you truly can start your business on a shoestring and take some risks. I’ve sold millions and never once sought investors or partners. Mentors, on the other hand, like Bob Parsons, are invaluable.
Put on your thick skin.
Don’t share your dream with anyone who’ll tell you that you don’t have what it takes.
And… go for it!

All the best,
Chris

  1. I wonder if TedTalks would have Bob Parsons as a speaker. He most certainly has a track record, but his style is a tad abrasive. We shall see

    • I love Dr. Bob’s stuff. As I learned in the Marines, abrasive = ok sometimes. Besides, he gets a lot of criticism, but he’s wildly successful. I think much of it is driven by haters and jealous geeks.
